Kids4Peace Roots - 8th grade 2016-17
This year in Kids4Peace, the youth will start exloring the ins and outs of their identities.
Roots participants gather monthly to visit each others’ neighborhoods and sacred places, and volunteer in the community. They are challenged to look deeper into their own identity, while examining how they fit into those of their wider community's as well. As Roots participants mature into young adults, Kids4Peace facilitates more intensive programs including weekend seminars and another local summer program.
During the summer, participants travel together to the south of Israel for an outdoor desert adventure. Roots4Peace Summer Camp is another local summer program which continues to show the youth that they are capable of building a peaceful environment within their own region. The one week camp located on Kibbutz Ketura, just north of Eilat, offers opportunities for learning and bonding, while enjoying outdoor activities such as hiking, exploring sand dunes and star gazing. At camp, the youth are challenged with questions of how their role within Kids4Peace affects how they view their identity within the conflict.
Participants are obligated to participate in all meetings. The cost of the program is 900 NIS and should be paid by check or online at registration. Summer camp fee is 2200 NIS.
